Think back to your childhood. What was the toy you loved most? My sister and I had some great board games; I really loved modelling clay; Spirograph was difficult to master but great fun; but the dolls and the soft animals, they were different, they were friends. Sadly, when I was around twelve, I decided I was too old for all those babyish trappings and, in a moment of cold hearted madness, I gave them all away. I feel really sore now that I no longer have my sweet, little white bear - 'Snowy'. What was I thinking! But, hopefully at the bring-and-buy sale that I donated him to, Snowy was bought and given to another little girl or boy and they loved him. It would be fun to know his history. Perhaps Snowy is still around somewhere... still loved. My new book 'Bevan, A Well-Loved Bear' follows the history of a very old bear, from his first days in an Edwardian nursery all the way through to present day, moving between families, and across America. There's even a hint of a future story on the book's cover. Bevan, A Well-Loved Bear will be published 15th August 2021 by Sleeping Bear Press. You can pre-order now. Here are a couple of the character sketches I drew to prepare for the book. Here's a sneak peek at part of an illustration from 'Bevan, A Well-Loved Bear'...
